RESUMO

BACKGROUND: The relationship between suicide attempts and lipid profiles in patients with major depressive disorder (MDD) remains uncertain. The purpose of this study was to investigate sex differences in the relationship between suicide attempts and plasma lipid profiles in a large sample of first-episode and drug naive (FEDN) MDD patients. METHODS: We recruited 1718 FEDN MDD patients and gathered demographic, clinical, and blood lipid data. The Hamilton Depression Rating Scale, Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale and the Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale were used to assess the symptoms of patients. RESULTS: There was no significant difference in the prevalence of suicide attempts between male and female MDD patients. The suicide attempt group had higher levels of depression, anxiety, psychotic symptoms, total cholesterol (TC), and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), but lower levels of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) levels than the non-suicide attempt group. Binary logistic regression showed that TC levels were significantly correlated with suicidal attempts in both male and female patients. Correlation analysis revealed that the levels of TC, HDL-C and LDL-C were significantly associated with the number of suicide attempts in both male and female patients. Further multiple linear regression revealed that TC levels were significantly associated with the number of suicide attempts in male patients only. CONCLUSIONS: Lipid biomarkers, particularly high TC levels, are associated with suicide attempts in both male and female MDD patients. However, there is gender difference in association between lipid biomarkers, especially TC levels, and the number of suicide attempts in MDD patients.

RESUMO

Functional deficits including cognitive impairment and social dysfunction are the core symptoms of schizophrenia (SCZ), and sensory gating (SG) deficits may be involved in the pathological mechanism of functional deficits in SCZ. This study was to investigate the relationship between defective P50 inhibition and functional deficits in first-episode drug naïve (FEDN) SCZ patients. A total of 95 FEDN SCZ patients and 53 healthy controls (HC) were recruited. The Chinese version of UCSD Performance-Based Skills (UPSA), MATRICS Consensus Cognitive Battery (MCCB), and EEG system were used to assess the social function, cognitive performance, and P50 inhibition, respectively. The MCCB total score and eight domain scores were significantly lower in patients with FEDN SCZ than those in HC (all p < 0.05). The UPSA total score and financial skills scores were also significantly lower in SCZ patients than that in the HC (all p < 0.05). Compared with HC, patients with FEDF SCZ had a higher P50 ratio (all p < 0.05). There was no correlation between P50 components and MCCB scores in patients with FEDF SCZ. However, there was only a correlation between the P50 ratio and UPSA financial skills, communication skills, or total score in patients (all p < 0.05). Defective P50 inhibition in FEDN SCZ patients may be associated with social dysfunction but not cognitive impairment, suggesting that the social dysfunction and cognitive impairment of patients with FEDN SCZ may have different pathogenic mechanisms.

RESUMO

Schizophrenia patients with an earlier age of onset have been found to have more serious negative symptoms and cognitive deficits. Oxidative stress is thought to be implicated in cognitive impairment in schizophrenia. Total antioxidant capacity (TAOC) is an essential indicator of oxidative stress. However, the association between age of onset, TAOC, and cognitive performance in schizophrenia remains unexplored. In this study, 201 patients (age: 26.5 ± 9.6 years; male: 53.2%) with drug-naïve schizophrenia were recruited. Clinical symptoms were evaluated using the Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale (PANSS). Cognitive functioning was assessed using the Repeatable Battery for the Assessment of Neuropsychological Status (RBANS). Plasma TAOC levels were analyzed using established procedures. Results showed that early-onset (EO) patients had higher TAOC levels, more severe negative symptoms and performed worse on visuospatial/constructional, language and RBANS total scores than non-EO patients. After Bonferroni correction, only non-EO patients showed a significant inverse relationship between TAOC levels and RBANS language, attention, and total scores. Our findings suggest that an early/late age of onset may be correlated with psychopathological symptoms, cognitive impairment and oxidative responses in schizophrenia. Furthermore, the age of onset may moderate the relationship between TAOC and cognitive function in patients with schizophrenia. These findings suggest that improving oxidative stress status in non-EO schizophrenia patients may enhance their cognitive function.

RESUMO

Among primary and secondary school teachers in China, 70% of teachers believe that they are facing greater occupational pressure. 63.8% of teachers clearly stated that occupational pressure has caused a great or great impact on themselves. And this has had negative effects on them such as mental, physical and personal development. This article studies the group of public-funded normal students from the perspective of psychological support. This article uses the SCL-90 form to investigate the professional psychology of teachers for the psychological support of public-funded normal students engaged in the teaching profession. And it conducts a survey on the curriculum setting and satisfaction of the public-funded normal students during their study stage. The experimental results of this article show that only 11.9% of public-funded normal students are very willing to take root and serve township education. Moreover, the psychological pressure of teachers at different educational stages is quite different.

RESUMO

Once virtual reality technology (Virtual Reality, VR) came out, it has received a lot of attention; in recent years, it has been widely used in the study of psychology. Because it can improve the ecological validity of experimental research, the level of conditional control, reproducibility, and avoid the dangers of field operations, it has been introduced into the field of psychology by many researchers. Compared with traditional sports psychology research methods, virtual reality technology has the characteristics of multiperception, immersion, interaction, and imagination to get a better, more realistic feel and increase people's interest in sports. Taking the application of virtual reality technology in table tennis teaching in colleges and universities as an example, this study aims to review the application of virtual reality technology in sports psychology; summarize the theory, practice, and prospect of the application of virtual reality technology in sports psychology; and add new content to the research of sports psychology. It aims to review the principles, characteristics, and application of virtual reality technology in sports psychology; summarize the advantages and disadvantages of the application of virtual reality technology in sports and point out the problems that need to be paid attention to when using this method; explore the application of virtual reality technology in sports psychology; and add new content to the research of sports psychology.

RESUMO

Manganese-based Metal-organic Frameworks (Mn-MOFs) represents a unique sub-class of MOFs with low toxicity, oxidative ability, and biocompatibility, which plays vital role in the application of this class of MOFs in medical field. Mn-MOFs show great potential in biomedical applications, and has been extensively studied as compared to other MOFs in transition metal series. They are important in medical applications because Mn(II) possess large electron spin number and longer electron relaxation time. They display fast water exchange rate and could be employed as a potential MRI contrast agent because of their strong targeting ability. Manganese complexes with different ligands also display prospective applications in area such as carrier for drug targeting in anti-tumor and antimicrobial therapy. In the review presented herewith, the application of Mn-based complexes and Mn-MOFs have been emphasized in the area such as imaging viz. MRI, multimodal imaging, antitumor activities such as chemodynamic therapy, photodynamic therapy, sonodynamic therapy and antimicrobial applications. Also, how rational designing and syntheses of targeted Mn-based complexes and Mn-MOFs can engender desired applications.

RESUMO

The first nickel(ii)-catalyzed direct sulfuration/annulation of C(sp2)-H bonds with elemental sulfur has been achieved by using 2-amino alkylbenzimidazole (MBIP-amine) as a N,N-bidentate directing group. This strategy tolerates a wide range of functional groups, furnishing structurally diverse benzoisothiazolone derivatives with benzimidazole skeletons in moderate to excellent yields in a simple and efficient way.

RESUMO

The manganese-catalyzed addition of C-2 position of indoles to maleimides has been achieved under additive-free conditions. The manganese catalyst exhibits excellent chemo- and regioselectivity, good functional group compatibility, and high catalytic efficiency. The substrate scope can also be extended to maleates, ethyl acrylate, 1,4-dihydro-1,4-epoxynaphthalene, pyrroles, and 2-phenylpyridine, which further demonstrates the universality of this straightforward approach.
